Time Management…. True / False?

From a very young age, we all have been subjected to importance of time and why we shouldn’t waste it. Now a days, ‘Efficient Time Management’ is such a hot topic that no one can resist oneself to ignore it. Well that’s at least my story. I don’t feel proud to admit this but I do waste time and used to think that biggest issue with me is the fact that I don’t manage my time effectively. It took me light years to understand the concept that neither I nor any human being on the earth has the ability to control time. Then how can we accuse others or even ourselves of inefficient time management?

To keep this short and simple, time is/was/will be always the independent factor. Neither will it wait for anyone nor anyone can stop time. Something that is not in our control cannot be managed. That is why I believe that time management is a lie. Yup, its false! Okay now try to remember those days when you used to make a study time table and always ended up discarding it and making a new one. With the course of time you accept the fact that you can never stick to the time table and hence don’t waste your precious time making one! Ever wondered why?

While making a time table we consider about the time we have/need. We prioritize time over us! Try to remember if you ever tried to study a topic within one hour without even realizing that topic isn’t as small as it seems or you tried to complete an assignment within one hour but it took three hours to complete it. Therefore, we fail to keep up with our time table because we forget about the dependent factor ~ Our self.

We definitely can’t control time but we can obviously control our mind and do the work. It was never about managing time instead all about how you wish to spend your time. It is a every day test for all of us to know how discipline and consistent we are to our work. All the successful people we see and all the success stories we hear and read are the result of their consistent efforts to improve themselves and that was not a one day process. It was challenging, uncomfortable yet a worthwhile period of their life who chose to do the work even when they didn’t wanted to and today live the life that many of us like dream.

We all are getting 24 hours. What we make out of it only depends on us and not on time or amount of work we have. And also embrace the fact that we will frequently fall but your constant perseverance, dedication and attitude towards your commitment will not let the effects of the fall last for long. So instead of asking or searching a perfect solution for time management or watching videos of how to make a time table, ask yourself what to do right now that will help you to manage yourself for the coming time.

Its okay to fall in Love With Yourself!

Hello my dear fellas! How worn out are you? Feeling life is getting harder and merciless day by day? Do you feel like everything is going out of your control? But still you’re living it? Hmmm, seems like your life is making you stronger and preparing for the worst. Hey, I know its hard and I’ve no right to say how to live your life. But recently some instances proved me that we humans are experts while solving others problems but when it comes to our problems, we either fail to sort it out well or solve it in the worst way possible. Stop blaming yourself or hating yourself, because you’re not the only person suffering from this.

I recently met Pansy (that’s not her real name obviously) who told me that her problems in life are not small, petty issues. According to her, she lost the balance of a life when the love of her life, the only person she loved most, her boyfriend, Mr. Worthless (that’s what he is in real life) left her because she is fat. Now he is going to marry another lady. Pansy got so much depressed that she was admitted. Worst part: She believes God and her parents are responsible for this. She still wants to be worthless and won’t let anyone say a word against him. Pansy will never admit the fact that even though she loved him but he only lusted for her. I am not angry but really feel bad for her. I have no right to say what should she do. Since a share a therapeutic relationship with her, the only thing I can do is counsel.

“You’ll never understand what I feel. Don’t get me wrong, but you never fell in love.”

That’s what she told me when I tried to counsel her. I didn’t say anything at that time because for the time being I thought she was right. I never got into a relationship. Even though I was in love it was worst phase of my life. But then I realize that she was wrong.

Being in a relationship isn’t something that only a couple can have, something that only involves kissing, dates and showing off. Its about being with someone who accepts you as you are, where you are happy, where nobody judges you and you can express yourself without the fear of being judged. But unfortunately the relationship with our family and friends is the most ignored relationship. We take them for granted (sometimes I do that). But by witnessing Pansy’s parents unconditional love for her I realized how self indulgent. I am. I care about the people who don’t even know I exist but I don’t care about the people who love me more than I deserve. But then that is what we all humans do, right?

With my family which includes my parents, brother, grandparents and all the uncles and aunts, I’ve ‘sugar and spice and everything nice’ type relationship. Yes, we do fight, but then I can’t imagine my life without them. As for my friends, I do admit I’m the worst friend who fails to express her love but always will be there when they need me. I don’t have many friends but whomever I have, they are too precious to be lost. We have this crazy relationship with each other and can totally depend on each other.

So back to the objective of today’s blog. For those who think life is so unfair to you, tired of resolving your problems, you can try all this and I assure you, You’ll feel better. So please read this article till the end and do suggest your opinions: –

  1. Talk it out to your family: Lets say that you might face difficulty in telling every single person in your family your feelings, but still there will be always that one person on whom you can count on. It can be your mom, dad, sister, brother or anyone who you think won’t judge you and most importantly will keep it a secret.

2. Talk to your friend: We all have that one best friend we know are very good in keeping secrets and won’t judge for what we are. Even you must be having one. Don’t shy away. Talk to them. Tell how are you feeling. Express your issues, concerns and fears, they may not be able to give you an accurate solution but at least they will patiently listen to you! And omg trust me this one works really well. Your stressed up mind may get relieved and will get calm for sometime.

3. Write it down in a paper: Take a paper and pen and start writing down whatever you are feeling. Don’t take a break or leave it incomplete. Keep writing as long as you haven’t expressed yourself fully. Don’t worry about grammar or spelling mistakes. After writing it, read it (if you want to) then tear it down (so that nobody can read it). This was not as effective as talking to the friend but yes it did help me a lot. How it will help if you’re asking; it will help you to introspect yourself, your problems and finally give you many reasons to fall in love with yourself, again. 🙂

4. And finally, don’t give up: Life is hard. It always was. Just ask yourself: What was easy in your life? Was school life easy? Was college life easy? Keeping up with friends is easy? Tolerating pollution is easy? Witnessing human stupidity is easy? College life was/is easy? But you did it! You are a brave fighter. Keep on fighting. And don’t you ever think that you’re alone in this. Your family, friends and your well wishers are with you, every time. So keep believing in yourself.

Make sure to read this, like, comment and please share as more as possible. Catch you all again. Until then, take care all you brave hearts! And yes, do pray for Pansy!

Here comes Onam!

Hello gurls and guys of all ages! Okay let me apologize again for not publishing anything last week. I swear I was so busy. Let me summarize my busy days as shortly as possible: –

Me - Leader (lol) - group of 26 - group activity - Roleplay - settling accounts

Yup. And I survived 😀

Anyway, today I’m going to introduce you to a festival celebrated in Kerala, India (YUSS, I’m a Indian Mallu Boo!). Consider this as a short guide about EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ONAM and WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT KERALA DURING ONAM

Onam is a religious, cultural and harvest festival celebrated in Kerala during August – September and celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm among different communities. It lasts for 4-10 days, the first day being Atham and 10th day being Thiruonam.

Any Legend?

YUPPERS! There was a Asura (Demon) King Mahabali who used to rule Kerala. Everyone was happy and the kingdom was prosperous, also called the Golden Era our state. When Mahabali defeated Gods, they approached Lord Vishnu to help him defeat Mahabali. Instead Lord Vishnu decided to test Mahabali’s devotion towards him. So Lord Vishnu took avatar of a Dwarf boy Vamana and approached King Mahabali while he was doing Yajna (homa sacrifices).King Mahabali already declared that he will grant anyone any request during Yajna, Vamana asked for  property right over a piece of land that measures “three paces” and Mahabali agreed. The Vamana grew and covered everything Mahabali ruled over in just two paces. For the third pace, King Mahabali offered himself, an act which Vishnu accepted as evidence of King Mahabali’s devotion. Vishnu granted him a boon, by which King Mahabali could visit again, once every year, the lands and people he previously ruled and was attached to.

What are special stuffs done on Onam?

Again I tell you, if you want to see how onam is celebrated, you must visit Kerala to enjoy it truly.

  1. Vallamkali (Snake Boat Race) : It is held on the river Pampa. A very beautiful sight to see the decorated boat oared by hundreds of boatmen 150 men of which four are helsmen, 25 men are singers and 125 are the actual oarsmen  while chanting the songs and cheering by spectators. It is depiction of team spirit. A single mistake can create imbalance and overturn the boat.

2. Dress Code: White and off white with golden border is the traditional color that is worn during this occasion, the color of the blouse can be any but green and red are one of the most attractive colors. The classic matching color which is same as of the saree’s color is also a good choice. On the occasion of onam, white-colored mundu or dhoti with kasavu border combined with a white-colored shirt or kurta is the favourite of all men.

3. Pookalam: Pookalam is an intricate and colourful arrangement of flowers laid on the floor. Tradition of decorating Pookalam is extremely popular in Kerala and is followed as a ritual in every household during ten-day-long Onam celebrations. Girls prepare elaborate Pookalams in front of courtyard of house to welcome their most loved King.

Yup. Flowers, leaves, creativity, hard work but lots of love. You can find more.

4. Extracurricular Activities: Haha, don’t laugh! I didn’t know what to call it exactly, but this festival involves series of games like Talappanthukali (played with ball), Ambeyyal (Archery), Kutukutu and combats called Kayyankali and Attakalam. While women with all the grace perform Thumbi Thullal and my personal favorite Kaikotti kali.

5. Onasadya: Any guesses what it means? Like any other popular festival, Onam has a great feast too! Called Onasadya. And you should definitely try it. It is prepared on Thiruonam (Yes, the tenth day, but its worth it). The last day of Mahabali’s stay is remembered with a nine-course vegetarian Onasadya feast consisting of 11 to 13 essential dishes.  It is served on banana leaves and people sit on a mat laid on the floor to have the meal. It generally includes banana chips, Pappadam, Thoran, Avial, Sambhar, Rasam, Pulliseri (also known as Velutha curry), Pachadi, Moru (curd with water), pickles and many more things. (I know you have no idea what I’m talking about, but you’ll soon).

Aye Hawkeye! Noticed that creamy thingy in the glass with almonds on it? Its the BOSS! BOSS! Its Payasam babe. (Called Kheer in North India!) The feast ends with Payasam, a dessert made of milk, sugar or jaggery.

So this is the Payasam/Kheer/ Whatever you call it in your location made by mom today. There are various types of Payasam too! This one is made from Semiya (Vermicelli) my personal favorite. Its so yummy.

I don’t know how many of you know this but Government of India has taken due notice of this vibrant and colorful festival. It promotes Onam internationally in a big way and celebrates ‘Tourist Week’ for Kerala during Onam celebrations. Thousands of domestic and foreign tourists visit Kerala to be a part of Onam. And let me tell you Kerala is really beautiful place. You must visit it almost every year. (Do I sound like a telly shop ad model?) Anyway, its your wish. Let me remind you that I didn’t cover all the facts about onam. Maybe sometime soon. Catch you guys later. Byeeee!

Why so Angry Homo Sapiens?

Hello everyone! How are you guys? Hope you all are doing fine. May the Almighty give you the grace to deal your problems more wisely. Yes by wisely I meant using that so called common sense instead of being aggressive.

Personally I am not a big fan of Anger. If someone shouts at me, I feel terrible. And imagine the pain if that someone is the person I love. I am sure the same happens with everyone. Even though you didn’t drop a tear outside, you have already died a thousand times inside. However anger was not taken very seriously until in recent years when people started taking lives of other person because they lost temper. Yes, I am not at all kidding. Check out the sites given below and read out this horror story yourself.

Angry Delhi: How city makes mountain out of molehill, draws blood for nothing

Sad, isn’t it? We will never know the depth of a problem as long as some humans doesn’t loose their life. This reports are just few examples. Who knows how many such reports went unnoticed. People would think twice before disagreeing because who knows whether they will be alive to say next sentence 😐
To be honest, I don’t think its just a Delhi problem. Anger is everywhere in different forms. I am just trying to point out it by giving example of my city. It breaks my heart to admit the fact that in my city a petty disagreement with almost anyone can land me into a big trouble. Dama
So in today’s post, let’s relish our memories about anger. What is anger, according to you? According to me, its a sudden outburst of emotions which gives a temporary relief and lifelong regret. If you agree with me, we are on the same page, YAY!  If you want to add something more in my definition, please use comment box. Thank you! Now some facts about anger: –

1. The damage caused by anger is too much than we think: I am sure the makers of Hydrogen bomb blasted in Hiroshima and Nagasaki would have never thought it will have such big impact. Did they ever slept peacefully? Have they ever thought how will they recreate the destroyed…. Now imagine yourself in their place. Throwing anger like bombs and in process hurting a lot of people. It’s horrible.

2. When in anger, we cross the line between the right and the wrong: The dominant anger will blindfold your brain, manipulate your heart. In short, your common sense will stop working. The person you will find right is you yourself and by the time you’ll understand your mistake, it will be too late.

3. It causes a lot of damage to yourself: It affects your health. Increase in blood pressure, risk of heart diseases, stress, depression, loosing the people who care about you… I don’t think I need to say more?

So what can we do?
Simple. Whenever I get angry, I start taking deep breaths for… 5 seconds and the next moment I am back to normal. I know it sounds so stupid and lame. But it is so true and effective. You guys should try this too! Or share your little tricks to keep your anger at bay. The other thing we can do I observe. Look around you. Do you know anyone who looses temper easily. That may be the person you love most (yes even you yourself). Talk to your elders about this or get professional/medical help.
The last but not the least, spread the word! Let everyone know what a small anger outburst can cost us.  So please like 😊 comment 😁 share 😇 follow 😉

Catch you all soon. Next week!

3. What will you loose: Peace, happiness, love, family, friends and other unnecessary evils

*Terms and conditions apply
Karma is not in our control. So don’t blame us if anything happens to you in process.

I don’t know what to see.  Homo sapiens (human beings) are those organisms in the earth who know the difference between right and wrong and yet choose wrong because they refuse to think! The above given ad about the revenge is not something we don’t know. Its just that we want to hurt someone because they hurt our tiny winy ego. Now listen carefully :

  • Revenge sounds sweet, but it isn’t so: While seeking revenge, a person refuses to use their common sense and instead wastes their precious time in plotting a plan against the other person. While seeking revenge, a person becomes manipulative,  stupid and emotion less. And when I say emotion less, that means the person is dead inside.

  • Being the Avenger is not so cool in real life: (I love Marvel but right now I’m not talking about that!) Fighting evil with equivalent evil act does not justify you. Seeking to repay the lose done to you ultimately makes you no better than the one against whom you’re taking vengeance.

  • Revenge makes situation worse: Revenge is so powerful that it can steal your peace, happiness, love and meaning of life. It will make you empty inside. You will not understand what is to be around the loved ones. Hurting others can never make anyone happy. And if a person says he does it to satisfy himself, he’s lying.

  • Even after taking revenge, you’ll be dissatisfied: How many of you can lie me that you took revenge and you felt really great. You finally tortured someone and that was the best moment of your life. You can lie to me but you can’t lie to yourself. Revenge is dissatisfaction is disguise. Its fruitless, tasteless and futile. Waste of your precious time which ends up making you dead inside.

Guys, we should stop this. Stop being the revenge seekers. And if you know anyone who is seeking revenge stop them as soon as possible! Catch you next Sunday with another catchy topic. Until then take care and do what I told you, PLEASE! Thank you!

(And I will appreciate some great comments and lot of likes. Anyway, chillax cause I won’t try to seek revenge 😀 )

The Negative Vibes…

Today, in our Apartment whatsapp group (I don’t know how to explain this. Just use your imagination) Mr Dyeria, forwarded a joke. Well he always does but today’s joke was different. As soon as, he sent the message, other person replied “Ha! Purana Hai! (Ha! Old one!)”. The most annoying Mr Dyeria was annoyed by another annoying person, His son, Johndizz, lol. And everyone started making fun of his father. So Mr Dyeria replied “Haan, toh kya hua? Teri maa bhi toh puraani hai, tu uski baatein sunn sakta hai, toh mere joke enjoy kyun nahi kar sakta? (Yeah, so what? Your mom is old too and you still listen to her, then why can’t you enjoy my joke?)” And then Mrs Dyeria started typing. Now I know this is not apartment whatsapp group but more like “Dyeria Family Group” so I quit the group to avoid drama.

I know Mr Dyeria is the most irritating person I’ve ever met and I would never leave a chance to insult him, but this time I did. Yes, I decided to empathize him. I also believe that just because he repeated a forwarded joke, there was nothing wrong in his intentions. He just wanted to make people laugh. Throughout my life, I’ve realized that its very easy to point out mistakes, but at the same time very difficult to point out the positive traits. Now I believe in optimistic approach and discarded pessimistic attitude few years ago (Do I sound like telly shopping over acting models?). I do admit, sometimes I am pessimist, but mostly I try my best to be positive. And I think everyone should have a optimistic approach to life. And here are my reasons:-

  1. Optimism promotes positivity: We don’t know what’s in the store for tomorrow. The attitude of being an optimist helps us to expect positive results and helps in building resilience at the time of challenges. This helps the person to welcome any kind of unexpected change hence creating a positive anticipation of future.

2. Optimism promotes productivity: It upgrades our various skills in order to fight life adversities. Optimism enhances patience. It increases your tolerance levels because it lowers the risk of you being irritated by little things. An optimist is a very approachable person. Admit it or not, you will never seek advice from a person who always thinks negative.

3. Optimism is good for the person oneself: A person will never change until they themselves realize they need to. An optimist person has control over their emotions. They have self respect, self confidence and self esteem. They are humble, happy, satisfied and thankful to their life. It promotes bonding between different individuals. A  Harvard School of Public Health study found that People who tend to look on the bright side have fewer heart problems, such as cardiovascular disease. They also have better cholesterol readings: In a separate survey of nearly 1,000 middle aged men and women, those who reported higher levels of optimism had lower levels of triglycerides, or less fat in the blood. In short, optimism promotes physical, mental and social well being!

4. World needs more Optimists: Our world already have too many problems to deal with like people killing people, global warming, friends betraying friends, deforestation etc. Its painful to be a pessimist in this already dull world. So be the person who makes someone smile. Promise yourself to not be the killer of hope but be that ray of hope. To be the ray of hope in this world of Despair. A perfect example of pessimistic attitude is fat shaming. Psychologists have done a lot of research on this, and the evidence is very clear Fat shaming DOES NOT motivate people, but makes them feel terrible about themselves and actually causes them to eat more and gain more weight.

Thank you guys for reading. Don’t forget to share your opinions, like and share this blog! Have a great week ahead. Hereby sharing one of my favorite quote by none other than Martin Luther King Jr

The Act of Swearing

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great last week. Mine was amazing though 😉

Swearing in today’s world is not a big deal. Everybody will be like “Duh, everyone swears!” Not everyone does! At least I don’t. And I know many of you don’t too. Good. To be honest, I am surrounded with people who swear and try to act cool when they swear. In fact, one of my friend can string the swears rhyming together with a smooth sounding flow……  which leaves the listener wanting for more… lol no way 😀

So today I will share my opinions about Swearing

  1. Benefits of Swearing: YES! You read it right! Swearing has benefits. When my friend told me I thought it was rubbish until I searched it in google. One study showed people who swear have a larger vocabulary than others. Another group of researchers has claimed swearing is a harmless emotional release which could make you feel stronger. So the more you swear, you will free better inside 😉

2. It doesn’t resolve the issue though: I have witnessed many fights which get started due to swears and even ending up in killing each other. Hence no matter which high qualified cursing you use, it will not help you to resolve the issue anyway. Moreover, no matter whose fault it is, if you are using too much cussing, you’ll be automatically judged as the “Bad person”

3. It becomes part of your life intentionally or unintentionally: Imagine the scenario: You are in your home with your family, when your mom asks whether you want ice cream and you scream “F***ing yeah, I love ice cream!” Ew, isn’t it? “It just happened and not my fault” you may think it but remember, its the release of emotion from your mouth which made you feel better but left others uncomfortable

4. People think it makes them look cool: Does it really? My best friend who I mentioned earlier having amazing talent of swear, I love her because she is such a sweet heart, so caring, honest, loyal person I am ever gonna meet and not because she was looking cool while swearing lol. Yes, I do want her to use it as minimally as possible and she understands me and trying her best. I don’t find swearing offensive at all! You know what is more offensive? Cheating, back stabbing, lying, and giving false hopes….

So what do I conclude from this topic? Yes, you can swear but remember it will not resolve the issue and ends up becoming a habit. A cute information about me: I do swear but it’s not technically swear. Swearing means use of offensive language. The words that I use are not OFFENSIVE. I have listed down the examples for your better understanding. The underlined words are “My so called offensive words”

  1. You’re such a momos.
  2. Why are you acting like a bobos

Yes they are not the swear words exactly but are zero percent offensive and more fun 😉

Have a great week ahead! Share your thoughts in comment box na ddon’t forget to like and share!
